Tail Shape: Round Square

Volume (litres): 33.2

Fins: FCS

Wave Size: 1-2 foot

Wave Type: Beach break

Overall Rating: 8/10

My Feedback:

From the get-go, its clear that the JS Flying Pony is unlike most other small wave summer boards.  There's a stack of volume under the chest, and the almost non-existent rocker is perfect for creating straight line speed and glide. For the full review, jump across to the Boardthought ... Width: 21

Thick: 3

Tail Shape: Swallow

Volume (litres): 45

Fins: FCS

Wave Size: 1-2 foot

Wave Type: Beach break

Overall Rating: 8/10

My Feedback:

Standing tall at 5'6" this little performance fish by Global Surf Industries surpassed all expectations.  The board dealt a swift blow to my preconceived idea that softboards are not typically ridden with small wave performance in mind. It's a must-have for anyone looking to spice ... Fred Rubble Review

Model: Fred Rubble

Length: 5 ft 11

Width: 19

Thick: 2 5/16

Tail Shape: Round

Volume (litres): 27.2

Fins: FCS

Wave Size: 4-6 foot

Wave Type: Beach break

Overall Rating: 7/10

My Feedback:

This one's a little different to the other CI models I've ridden.  It has a lower entry rocker and wider outline. Its been a fun board for beach break waves waist high to a little overhead, and fits nicely in the quiver between a proper step-up and an every-day small wave performance ... Continue reading

Thick: 2 5/16

Tail Shape:

Volume (litres): 27

Fins:

Wave Size: 2-4 foot

Wave Type: Beach break

Overall Rating:

My Feedback:

This board is a real surprise.  Its the second one I've had because it works well in almost all beach break conditions - from 1ft up to 5ft.  Single into double concave, and its got a nice big sqaure tail, so heaps of foam to push on.  Using FCS PG5's, I find the board snappy ... Continue reading

Fins:

Wave Size: 1-2 foot

Wave Type: Beach break

Overall Rating: Excellent Board

My Feedback:

Fast, Fast, Fast - on both backhand and forehand, and planes through fat sections with ease.  Holds speed through each turn.  Easy to go (try) vert on back hand, and generates pleanty of speed for open face forehand cutties.  I wasn't sure how I'd go with the length (given my ... Continue reading

Thick: 2 5/16

Tail Shape: Swallow

Volume (litres): 26.19

Fins: FCS

Wave Size: 4-6 foot

Wave Type: All wave types

Overall Rating: 8/10

My Feedback:

While the Project 15 is meant to be a small wave performance board, I've ridden it in 4-6ft Indo and it performed better then the longer boards I was riding at the time.  I use PG5's most of the time, but find I need to change fins (to something smaller) if surfing an average beach ... Thick: 2 5/16

Tail Shape:

Volume (litres): 28

Fins:

Wave Size: 2-4 foot

Wave Type: Beach break

Overall Rating:

My Feedback:

I typically ride this board on rights (forehand) with EA futures.  Nice and quick off the bottom and responsive off the top.  Holds speed really well after each tun and into the next.  Not as fantastic on backhand - a little sticky off the top and not alot of drive through turns ... Continue reading
